As we continue exploring regular and irregular figures - we learned what angles are. Angles are when 2 sides meet at a vertex to form an angle.
We focused on "Right Angles" to begin our lesson. Looking at a square figure we notice that 2 sides meet at a vertex, forming a square corner which is a right angle. We took a moment to move around the room and find different real life examples of figures with right angles.
Then we learned that an angle GREATER than a right angle is called an "Obtuse Angle" and an angle LESS than a right angle is called an "Acute Angle".

After our lesson, we worked hands on with I-pads and the Geoboard App. Everyone was asked to make different figures. First figure had to have only 1 right angle. Second figure had to have only 2 right angles. Third figure had to have only 3 right angles. Each student was able to use the I-pads and explore making figures with different right angles. After each student created their 3 figures, they had to show me and identify where each right angle was!
